Host City Mexico City is the Organizing Committee in charge of the entire experience outside the stands. While the world watches the scoreboard, we energize the city.
Mexico City will become the only host city in history to celebrate three World Cup opening matches (1970, 1986, and 2026). Our job is to design and operate the cultural, entertainment, and tourism offerings, ensuring that the global celebration resonates in every corner of the capital.
Hosting the FIFA World Cup 2026™️ is an opportunity to show the world the very best of Mexico City. Beyond the pitch, we want the tournament to be a point of connection with the culture, creativity and everyday life that define the capital.
We work to complement the sporting experience with a program that invites people to explore the city, inhabit its spaces, and discover what makes it truly unique. Our aspiration is for this hosting experience to leave a lasting positive mark and project Mexico City to the world.
- Social Impact: we spearheaded the restoration and improvement of 100 public soccer fields.
- Economical Impact: we facilitated an estimated $600 million dollars in economic activity for the capital.
- Cultural Impcat: we built a unique historical archive in collaboration with Annie Leibovitz. When the trophy is gone, the revitalization and pride will remain here.
